{"id":1586,"date":"2021-06-26T12:40:00","date_gmt":"2021-06-26T19:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trinitysv.com\/?p=1586"},"modified":"2023-09-23T10:09:32","modified_gmt":"2023-09-23T17:09:32","slug":"festival-of-st-michael-all-angels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.trinitysv.com\/?p=1586","title":{"rendered":"Festival of St. Michael &#038; All Angels"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.trinitysv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/A8.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10462\" width=\"409\" height=\"654\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.trinitysv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/A8.jpg 562w, https:\/\/www.trinitysv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/A8-187x300.jpg 187w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 409px) 100vw, 409px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>On September 29<sup>th<\/sup> <\/strong>we observe the Festival of St. Michael and all Angels.\u00a0 The word Angel comes from the greek <em>angelos,<\/em> which means messenger.\u00a0 Angels are not divine but created beings.\u00a0 They act at the Lord&#8217;s direction to speak His words, carry out His actions, or bring judgment or salvation.\u00a0 The phrase from the Nicene Creed confesses the Angels when we say,\u00a0 &#8220;and of all things visible and invisible&#8221;.\u00a0 God frequently used Angels to announce important events in the history of salvation: The news to the Virgin Mary that she would give birth to a Son, the news of Jesus birth, His Resurrection, Ascension, and His second coming.\u00a0 There are both good and evil angels.\u00a0 The Holy angels are many in number and powerful.\u00a0 They serve God, help us, and protect us from harm and danger.\u00a0 When we die they will take us to be with our Lord forever.\u00a0 The evil angels are also many in number and powerful.\u00a0 They rebelled against God and were cast out of Heaven.\u00a0 They hate God and seek to destroy good, especially faith in Christ.\u00a0 This festival commemorates the great battle in Heaven where St. Michael and the Angels of the Lord fought Satan and his evil angels. The battle between the Holy Angels and demons will also continue, till the Day of Christ.
