Next Sundays Readings:  May 29 Seventh Sunday of Easter Acts 1:12-26, Revelation 22:1-6, 12-20, and John 17:20-26 

 

In-Person Bible Study:  In-person Bible Study has started with an evening class at Trinity at 6:30 PM on Tuesdays and a morning class at Concordia at 9:00 AM on Wednesdays.  We will begin with the Book of Revelation, and the class will be the same at both locations.  Online morning devotions will still be held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 9.  We’ll continue the pattern of evening and morning studies on Tuesday evenings and Wednesday mornings, interest permitting.  Hope to see you there!

 

Help Wanted: Trinity and Concordia must, sadly, prepare to say goodbye to our secretary Shannon Stone. We are looking for a new church secretary to begin this summer. Our secretary position is flexible and works about 10-15 hours a week during normal weeks. A few extra hours might be required around the holidays or for funerals. Familiarity with Microsoft Publisher is preferred. If you are interested in this position, please give either pastor or an elder a brief resume.  

 

Concordia  LWML IDW Convention In-gathering:  There is a box in the narthex for eye glasses. Another box for regular size bath towels and wash clothes. These item will then be taken to the convention on Thursday, June 16.  The eyeglasses will go towards Most Ministries. The washcloths and towels will go to Orphan Grain Train. “Open the eyes of my heart, O Lord!” Eph. 1:18-19 

 

LP Food Pantry:  The Lake Park mobile food pantry is in need of either food or monetary assistance, monetary is preferred. Your donation may be left at the grocery store in Lake Park and by informing them, your donation will earmark for such. However if you wish to donate food or paper products such as napkins, toilet paper, paper towels, etc that is fine. We served 85 families in November and turned away 5 or 6 families.

 

CHRISTIAN TV SHOWS: This is the Life and Main Street Living are broadcast on our local affiliates on Sunday mornings.  “This is the Life” features remastered episodes of the popular series that was very popular in the 70’s and 80’s. Main Street Living is a Lutheran worship service that features a different area Pastor each week. It features many aspects of worship; with an Invocation, confession and absolution, The Apostles Creed, the week’s Scripture readings, and a sermon. Hymns are sung by area church choir members. It’s a wonderful evangelistic ministry that shares the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ with the unchurched and shut-in.  It is also great to utilize on Sundays you are unable to attend worship online at www.mainstreetliving.com

May 22 “The Prisoners” – An elderly woman is attacked and terrorized by a teenage gang. Rev. Trevor Freudenburg of Calvary Lutheran Church in Sioux City, IA, delivers the message, “A Vision of the Future” based on Revelation 21:9-14, 21-27. 

May 29 “A Dream of His Own” – A father and son are at odds when the construction company will evict an Indian family. Rev. Martin Hill of Trinity Lutheran Church in Martinsburg, NE, delivers the message “Still With Us” based on Acts 1:1-11. 

 

LWML Mites: We will now have the LWML Mite can sitting in the back by the offering plate and we welcome all members including Sunday school students to bring your loose change on any Sunday and place in the can. We thank you for all your help.

 

 I-Pad/Digital Organists needed:  If you are able, or would be willing to learn how, to run the I-Pad for Sundays we don’t have an organist please contact the church office.
