Family Ice Fishing Weekend   January 24-26  at Camp Okoboji.  Come enjoy a weekend of ice fishing, devotions, Bible Studies, and a fish fry!  Pastors Ben Dose and Jim Stogdill will be the leaders for this weekend Ice Fishing Retreat for families of all ages! 


OKOBOJI WINTER GAMES January 24 – 26: Camp Okoboji will be hosting Winter Games Family Fun in the Christian Life Center on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00PM.  Horse-drawn sleigh rides, sledding, indoor games and bingo, carnival games, inflatables and a Ping Pong Tournament.  Sunday morning Camp will have a Worship Service and an omelet brunch.  We are looking for volunteers to assist with the Saturday activities and Sunday Brunch.  Overnight lodging will be provided to our volunteers, who should contact the office to make arrangements.  Also, Camp would be an ideal place to stay if you plan to attend the Okoboji Winter Games.  Please contact the office for reservations  


Join Us:  All families are invited to a “Children’s Winter Carnival” at Martin Luther High School, Northrop on Sunday, January 26th from 1-3 p.m. The Student Council and National Honor Society will host a variety of fun games and activities. Cost is $5 per child or $15 per family. Parents are free. A Toddler Room and Parent Lounge will be available. Please join us


Open House:  Immanuel Lutheran School in Lakefield is hosting on Wednesday, January 29th from 4:30-6:30 p.m. This is for all students in Preschool through 8th grade. Great time to meet the teachers and check out the classrooms. There will be carnival games in the gym and hot dogs will be served. Immanuel Lutheran School is located at 620 Bush Street in Lakefield.


Join Us:  National Lutheran Schools Week Dinner will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran School Activity Center in Lakefield on Sunday, February 2nd from 10:30-12:30. On the menu is Pulled Pork, Salads, Desserts, and Beverages. A freewill donation will be accepted with proceeds to benefit the students of Immanuel. The Immanuel Lutheran School Activity Center is located at 620 Bush Street in Lakefield.  


Strengthening Marriage WorkshopFirst English will host a workshop that will help married couples strengthen their marriage whether they’ve been married a short time or for many years. Mark your calendar for Saturday, February 15 9am-2pm. Pastor Jonathon Conner, will lead us through a time to grow in communication skills, understand how God has uniquely designed man and woman, and lead you in focusing on your relationship. Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided. Cost $40 per couple (payable the morning of the workshop)  Child care will be provided if needed.  Register on the Iowa District West website at This workshop is sponsored by the Iowa District West Education and Family Life Committee.

SAIL Exercise classes begin Fri. Jan. 24. Attend all the classes that work for you. Mondays & Fridays 1-2PM.

SAIL is an ongoing exercise class for adults 55 years and older, however we will not deny anyone from participating.  The class is one-hour in length and incorporates aerobic activity, strength and balance exercises to improve overall fitness and reduce the risk for falling. Classes are free to all who participate and all the necessary equipment is provided by the Active Aging Programs.  Classes will be held Mondays and Fridays from 1-2 p.m., beginning Fri, Jan 24, 2020.  The host site is the Multi-Purpose Center in Lakefield, which provides accessibility for all.  People of all fitness levels are welcome to participate, as exercises can be adapted for those who may need to remain seated.  Participants can join the class at any time.
